Informationen zur Verfügbarkeit von Windows 8.1




Am 18. Oktober 2013 erscheint Microsoft Windows 8.1 - das neue Betriebssystem von Microsoft. Anwender, die bereits Windows 8 einsetzen oder noch bis zum 18. Oktober 2013 Windows 8 erwerben, erhalten lt. Microsoft die Möglichkeit ein kostenfreies Upgrade durchzuführen.

Zu Testzwecken besteht bereits jetzt die Möglichkeit, Windows 8.1 als Preview-Version vorab zu verwenden. Bitte beachten Sie jedoch, dass die Preview-Version nicht auf produktiv genutzten Computern zum Einsatz kommen sollte und später nicht zur unbefristet nutzbaren Version hin aktualisiert werden kann. Dennoch bietet die Preview-Version erfahrenen Anwendern die Möglichkeit sich schon jetzt über die neuen Funktionen von Windows 8.1 ein Bild zu machen. Windows 8.1 für Schule und Bildung. Für Schulen und Bildungseinrichtungen erhalten die Möglichkeit Windows 8.1 als Kauflizenz zur nicht befristeten Nutzung oder als Mietlizenz zu erwerben.

Welche Neuen Funktionen bietet Windows 8.1 für Schulen und Bildungseinrichtungen (Bezug im Rahmen der Microsoft Volumen-Lizenzmodelle)?

  • Höhere Sicherheit: Integrierte, von der IT konfigurierbare BitLocker Laufwerksverschlüsselung, biometrische Authentifizierung, koppelbar mit Services, Apps aus dem Windows Store oder Zertifikaten, Antimalware-Erkennung auf Netzwerk-Ebene und Fernlöschung von Einrichtungsdaten, die auf einem Gerät gespeichert sind.

  • Ein Plus an Mobilität: Verbesserte VPN-Unterstützung, App-initiierter VPN-Aufbau üPC/Tablet als WLAN-Hotspot, im SoC integrierte 3G/4G-Module für verringerte Leistungsaufnahme.

  • Vereinfachtes BYOD: OMA-DM-API für vereinfachte Verwaltung mobiler Endgeräte mit Drittherstellerlösungen (z.B. Mobile Iron und Air Watch), Arbeitsplatznetzwerk & Work Folder für bessere Netzwerkintegration von PCs und Tablets, die keiner Domäne angehören, Drucker-Verbindung mittels NFC-Technologie, Drucken über WiFi-Direct-Verbindung, Miracast-Wireless-Display kabellos verbinden, Outlook 2013 RT ist in Windows RT 8.1 integriert.


Windows 8.1 für Privatpersonen. Anders als Windows 8 soll Windows 8.1 für Privatpersonen nicht als Update sondern nur als Vollversion verfügbar sein.
